Eternal spark

'Tis perfect love that casts away thy fears,
And alters trepidation into light,
Though might produce a thousand folds of tears,
'Twas made to yield arrant heavenly fight.

Behold! Amidst ordeals love will subsist,
Bequeaths thou ev'ry man eternal spark,
In agony shall not cease to insist,
In ev'ry scrape hath com to leave a mark.

Though thy love seems a stream of endless pain,
And doubts might then bemuse thine loving heart,
Delight thyself in the joy thee might gain,
And though stars fall, it would not be apart.

Love's thorns might scour thy candid heart so deep,
But in its presence souls will never weep.
